How and Why Route-444 Works
Route-444 is a framework to get Fitter, Stronger and Happier by spending 4 Minutes, 4 Times a Day, 4 Days a week on a combination of high leverage activities which provide disproportionately big benefits in return for the small amount of time and effort you put in ---- thanks to the 80/20 Rule!
1. Most of us waste 80% of our time. Typically 20% of our time and effort provides most of our benefits and results. (Just think back to what you got done yesterday.... or how much did you really get done last week?)
2. Typically 20% of your TIME gives you 80% of your BENEFITS.
3. Therefore 80% of your TIME gives you 20% of your BENEFITS.
4. I realized that the 80/20 Rule must ALSO apply to getting STRONGER, FITTER and HAPPIER....
5. If you spend 5 hours a week in the gym, each single minute is not equal, only around 20% of the work you do will be providing 80% of the REAL actual benefits.
6. So, if your best friend goes to the gym for 5 hours a week and you go for only 1 hour a week - your Mate is NOT going to be 5 Times Stronger and 5 Times Fitter. (Of course he will be stronger and fitter - maybe 20-30% more - but he spends 5x more time and effort.
7. If you pick your activities well you can even improve on the 80/20 Rule? The 80/20 Rule is Fractal....
8. Because the 80/20 Rule is FRACTAL that means that 20% of the 20% of your time (4%) gives you 80% of the 80% Benefits (64%)
9. YES - so that means if you choose the right HIGH LEVERAGE activities, then 4% of what you do can provide 64% of the Benefits. (Think Push-ups or Sit-ups compared to walking down the street....)
10. I don't want to fry your brain but remember the 80/20 Rule is FRACTAL? Well that also means that 20% of the 4% (0.8%) provides 80% of the 64% (51%) results ---- Yes let's call it 1% gives you 50% of the Benefits.
The actual exact numbers don't matter and they vary depending on the activity and situation, but basically you typically get MOST OF YOUR RESULTS from a SMALL AMOUNT OF TIME AND EFFORT.
In extreme cases if you choose carefully this means you can get incredibly high leverage from your time and effort.
Think about it.... think about the times you make an important phone call or write and important email or letter which results in some very valuable business.
The day you did that you benefited from the 80/20 Rule in a very extreme way. Literally a few minutes of your time ended up helping you close a big deal.
It's not exactly the same, but in principle if you choose your activities carefully then you don't need spend hours every day to get FITTER, STRONGER and HAPPIER.
(It only takes 4 Minutes, maybe less - mostly just quick "Yes" or "No" Answers)

After all the stress we all went through in 2020-2022, I decided it was about time to get fitter and stronger to strengthen my immune system. I was in my mid-50's and hadn't really exercised or been to the gym for 30 years.
I wanted to find a way of easily maintaining a 'good enough' level of health and fitness without having to spend hours in the gym every week or have to follow strict diets.
Over the following couple of years I developed my own framework which I've fine tuned month by month until the point now where it suits me fine and it's easy enough to keep pretty fit and healthy.... and I'm much calmer and happier now.
I decided to call it Route-444 (the clue is in the numbers!)
